OMICRON AND YOUR HEALTH NEEDS

We are currently experiencing staff shortages, so we thank you for your patience, support & kindness during this challenging time.

  • We will remain open and keep supporting your wellbeing
  • We will look after your normal health needs as well as covid infections
  • Please book normal appointments for vaccinations, smears and regular check-ups
  • For everyone’s well-being, we will continue to keep “respiratory” patients separate from other patients
  • We are offering Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) & PCR's if required. We can provide you with RATs to take home

FLU VACCINATIONS ARE AVAILABLE NOW

They are free for people aged between 6 months-64 years who have chronic health conditions, pregnant women and those aged over 65. Our first flu clinic will be on Saturday 30th April between 9-1pm.
For all other people who wish to be vaccinated the cost is $32. Please call 03 348 5749 to book an appointment.

Fees Increase 1st May 2022

Unfortunately, due to a significant increase in general practice costs, we have had to increase our fees. Please be aware that each GP consultation is for 10 to 15 mins. Longer appointment times will be charged an extra fee

Practice Changes

We have some staff changes but our model of care is not changing. Your needs and wellbeing are important to us and we will continue to offer our same high level of care to you and your whanau.

Covid-19 - The Traffic Lights, Canterbury is currently at "Orange"

We are open but will be operating slightly differently.

  • On arrival please wait in your car. The doctor/nurse will call you when they are ready to see you. If you arrive by taxi/foot please ring reception when you get here and you will be instructed what to do.
  • We ask all patients to wear a surgical mask. If you don't have one, we have one available at the entrance to the practice.
  • We encourage phone consultations but in-person consults remain available.
  • We are using our external consult room for people with coughs, colds, earaches, runny noses, muscle aches, fevers and headaches.
  • We require everyone aged over 12 years to wear a mask when entering the practice. If you have a mask exemption, please discuss this when making your appointment.
  • Our door is unlocked.
  • On arrival, please use the hand sanitiser.
  • All phone prescriptions will be sent to your requested pharmacy. No pick ups.
  • Our staff will look different as we will be be wearing protective face coverings.

This is to keep you, our staff and all our patients safe.

After Hours Medical Care

If you need urgent after-hours medical care please call Pegasus Health 24Hr surgery on 03 365 7777. They are located at 401 Madras Street, Christchurch.

If you phone our usual number after hours, your call will automatically be diverted to the 24Hr surgery.
