Fees Increase 1st May 2022

Unfortunately, due to a significant increase in general practice costs, we have had to increase our fees. Please be aware that each GP consultation is for 10 to 15 mins. Longer appointment times will be charged an extra fee

GP Changes

We have some staff changes but our model of care is not changing. Your needs and wellbeing are important to us and we will continue to offer our same high level of care to you and your whanau.

Welcome Dr Hannah Gordon

Hannah has been working as a GP in Christchurch since 2011, after moving here from the UK with her kiwi husband.  She is looking forward to getting back into family medicine after a couple of years of working in emergency response coordination for COVID-19.

In her spare time she enjoys a range of outdoor activities with friends and Whānau, and minecraft build-battles with her son.

Welcome Dr Jian Tham.

Jian will work full-time and has made a long term commitment to Straven Medical. He enjoys all aspects of general practice. He speaks fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin. He particularly enjoys looking after families and older people. He is a wonderful GP and person.  Please read about Jian under "our team".
